That's kind of what the blog post is trying to get in the comments. What sort of restrictions should be in place for these things? Size? If I am in a mainland sim and drop a 1000 meter wide megaprim in the sandbox, it's griefing. If I do it on my own sim, it's a nice way to make the ocean look better. I just don't like Michael's comment about "If we ban them from the mainland, we'll also have to remove them from all private estates". There are just so many projects like Eric's and other large build that use them smartly as prim-saving devices that would suffer because some people are abusing them.
For a second, I was thinking about something like "if they fit on your land, go for it", but I have seen so many normal 10m prims hanging way over into someone else's property, especially linked ones that stick out even more. If they can't currently do anything about detecting these as infringing on other land, it doesn't look good for being able to restrict the megaprims in this way. Sure, it is technically possible, but it doesn't seem like that tech is currently in place, and it's much easier to send the megaprims the way of virtual gambling. -
@omaregan Depends - do you have your own sim or are you creating 65535m^2 megaprims on your 512m newbie land?

I'm getting my update IM before the page finishes loading. How that would scale if everyone jumps ship from Twitter to here, though, I do not know. It just feels like a little bitty time machine at the moment.

Yeah, all they need to do is expand a tiny bit on what you are replying to, and that part will be golden. For example, responses to this show as something like "Comment from ianbetteridge on I love Jaiku..." Maybe add who started that original thread, bake it at 350, and good to go.

Today's a bad time to try to get feeds added with all the flooding. I've tried on my account, which has several feeds already, and Jaiku choked and tried to mix babies with lemons.

It's always been "everyone is using Twitter - why post here, too?" I mostly have this set up to aggregate my other sites' posts.
